Where Can I Get the Flu Shot Without Insurance in NYC?

With flu seasoning quickly approaching, knowing where to get the vaccine is crucial. In New York City, you can get the vaccine at your local pharmacy, primary care doctor, or community health center. Without insurance, the shot can cost between $20-$70 at local pharmacies and the doctor's office. Where to Get Flu Shots in NYC    

In New York, individuals can get flu vaccines at community health centers, participating pharmacies, and WorkWell NYC Clinics. Any New York City resident can get a flu vaccine at participating pharmacies and community centers. However, Workwell clinics only provide flu shots to city employees and their families. This includes employees, dependents, and pre-medicare retirees.  

In addition, the city employee program, The Vaccines for Children Program (VFC), is a federally funded program that provides a free flu vaccine to children under 19 years of age and falls under any of the following categories:



Medicaid- Eligible 

American Indian 

Alaska Native 

Community Health Centers

New York City Health Department has outlined several community health centers that provide low or no-cost flu vaccinations regardless of insurance and immigration status. The clinics serve anyone ages four and up

Locations for Uninsured and Underinsured Adults

In addition to the Fort Greene Center, specific community clinics around NYC serve uninsured and underinsured adults. These clinics provide the flu vaccine to adults 19 years and older who don’t have insurance and those with insurance that does not cover immunizations. These health centers determine the cost of each person’s vaccine on a sliding scale based on family size and annual income.
